Hier in Milwaukee stimmt das definitiv, der Walmart ist total runtergekommen und liegt auch echt im Ghetto. Ich war seit über 2 Monaten nicht mehr da, weil es einfach so asi ist und man Angst haben muss, auf dem Parkplatz erschossen zu werden so ungefähr ;)

Apropos Crime und so: Gestern gab es ne Mail vom Chancelor der Uni, da es diese Woche bereits vier bewaffnete Raubüberfälle in der Nähe der Uni gegeben hat :/ Daher hat er jetzt einen Termin beim Chef vom Milwaukee Police Department und auch die UWM Campus Police verstärkt die Präsenz in der Nähe des Campus. Ist echt alles ziemlich anders als in Deutschland, das fällt einem bei solchen Dingen dann doch wieder auf (ok, mir fällt es sowieso jeden Tag an 35 anderen Dingen auf :p)...

Hier mal ein paar Details aus den Safety Alert Mails, klingt echt ganz schön krass teilweise.
"... when a suspect approached him and told him to get down on the ground. The man complied and two other suspects approached him. The man had nothing of value on his person and the suspects fled the scene..."

"At about 12:43 a.m., two men, a male UWM student and a non-affiliated man, were standing outside of their residence in the 1600 block of E. Linnwood Ave. when they saw three suspects emerge from in between a gangway of a house just slightly north of their location. Two of the suspects pointed handguns and one of the suspects threatened the two men. The suspects obtained a wallet, cell phone and CD player and ran from the scene."

"... The black male suspect grabbed the victim's left shoulder, spun him around and asked, "Where's your money?" He then struck the victim on top of his head with a bottle causing a 2" laceration and causing the victim to fall the ground. He then patted the victim's pants pockets and left without obtaining anything."

Milwaukee ist übrigens die 23rd largest city in the US, das wusst ich auch noch nicht... Und letztes Jahr im Wahlkampf hat John McCain gesagt, dass er hier nicht gerne wohnen würde haha
